TCI Textbook Scavenger Hunt
Students completed a Team Scavenger Hunt to familiarize themselves with our online textbook. Students who are absent this day will need to complete the Scavenger Hunt portion of the worksheet. However, they need to see me first to get their TCI account information. I will give them the worksheet at that time.
Tues, Oct 8 Catch-up Day
Introduction to History assessments were returned. Students with a low C, D or F, retook the test. Students worked on their Construction and Deconstruction of the Definition of History on Inspiration if needed. Students worked on Lunchroom Fight II, if needed. Students read up on current events on Dogo News or other student news sites and wrote up a short summary on one of the stories they read.
Wed, Oct 9
Complete Lunchroom Fight II activity
Students shared their "suspension" decisions and reports using evidence from the quotes to support their decision. Students then considered the information from the "unreliable" sources and discussed if there is any value in that information.
Thurs, Oct 10
Completion of Definition of History
Students added the last layer to their Construction and Deconstruction of a definition of History. To find appropriate images for the new words added in the third and last layer - Google images works well. Just copy the image, paste and add the word in the text box that is provided directly below the image. If you would like to copy and paste the definitions rather than type, please see the Time Traveler's Terms (click the link)

Time Travel Day to Tikal.
Students used Google Earth for a geography/map lesson relating to the Maya Civilization. Watch the tutorial below for what we did in class. Click HERE for the link to the accompanying map. The map can be printed out if you want to work on at home or you can get one from me when you return.
To access Google Earth on your Macbook, go to your Applications (Apps) and click on Google Earth. If you are prompted to accept a download - click accept/yes. If you don't have the Google Earth App at all, go to Self Service and you will find a download there.
