Aztec chapter vocabulary: Introductory hangman game to familiarize students with the words.
alliance: a group of countries, city-states, or other entities who agree to work together, usually for common defense or trade
Aztecs: a Mesoamerican people who built an empire in central Mexico that flourished from 1428 to 1519 C.E.
captured: to take control of a person or thing by force
causeway: a solid earthen roadway built across water or low ground
chinampas: man made “floating gardens” used to grow crops on the shallow lake beds in the Valley of Mexico.
civilization: A group of people living in a specific place and time period who share a common culture and language and have achieved an advanced stage of development and organization with a complex system of towns & cities and the surrounding rural areas.
conformity: uniform behavior according to a set of social or cultural rules or beliefs
empire:a group of countries or regions that are controlled by one ruler or one government;
enormous: very large
impressive: causing admiration or awe
mercenary: a professional soldier who is paid to fight for another country or group
plaza: a public square or open area in a city where people gather
Tenochtitlán: the capital city of the Aztec Empire

Click on the blue “Sign Up” Button
If you already have a Prezi account, click the "Log in" button.

On the next screen, select the grey PUBLIC free license.
Sign up using your school email address and I would STRONGLY suggest you use your school email password as well, so you don't forget it!

ALSO! Notice that you will get an email telling you that your account is almost ready and that you can install Prezi on your computer. DO NOT download Prezi yet. We may do this later, so DO NOT get rid of the email. Your Prezi will save in your account without having to download anything.
